Exaba's Support AI: First Steps

In addition to offering global support through our partners and self-help channels, Exaba has been developing a technical support AI tool—technically using a large-language model generative tool trained on a internal knowledge base.


This AI has been trained on a comprehensive corpus that includes product specifications, general OS information, corporate history, recommended systems, switch topologies, equipment selection, and Bill-of-Materials (BOM) examples.


Working in collaboration with Vivek Sharma, the technical lead in AI at Resolution 8, Exaba is building a tool that we envision as the first step in any triage situation.


Some example questions the AI will be able to address include (noting that we do not train on any positive or negative information about other companies):


  • What are the pros and cons of Exaba's object store?

  • What equipment is required for a single-site, 50PB solution, specifically for a backup use case?

  • How would the BOM change for an additional 10PB solution, incorporating FUSE/filesystems on top of object access for AI workloads?


Generative models should be approached with caution, but as they improve, they offer valuable insights that effectively guide technicians in the right direction.
