Exaba is pleased to announce the acquisition of the master license for all of Nyriad® Inc.'s UltraIO data storage, block device, and GPU direct access technologies, including the source code and all testing equipment.
Nyriad, Inc., based in Austin, TX, was a storage company whose primary product, UltraIO, was a GPU-accelerated block device designed for SAN workloads. UltraIO's use of GPU-based erasure encoding algorithms enabled exceptionally high parity and throughput.
The UltraIO technology is protected by a significant portfolio of patents and patent applications across multiple families. In total, the UltraIO team generated over 70 patents, applications, extensions, and filings.
Exaba's product development roadmap continues to focus on scale-out and scale-up technologies, incorporating the advanced capabilities of UltraIO.
